Code of Conduct
The purpose of this code is to provide guidelines and expectations of the coaches, players, and spectators.
COACHES
- Coaches set the example by which players and parents must follow.
- Coaches are expected to exhibit good sportsmanship at all times.
- Coaches will teach players the rules of the sport and encourage players to follow these rules.
- Coaches should treat other players, coaches, officials and spectators with respect.
- Coaches are responsible for the behavior of their own players and any spectators associated with their team.
- Coaches are empowered to request spectators to leave the field if they do not follow this code of conduct.
PLAYERS
- Players are expected to exhibit good sportsmanship at all times.
- Players will treat the referee(s) in a respectful manner before, during and after a match.
- Referees will be addressed as Sir or Ma’am. Players may ask the referee to clarify a call, but will not argue or express vigorous dissent, either verbally or by action.
- Treat other players, coaches, officials and spectators with respect.
- Control their emotions and speech.
- Attend all practices and games unless excused by the coach.
- Wear their team uniform in the prescribed manner.
- Play to win, but when losing, to lose with dignity.
- Follow the rules of the game at all times.
PARENTS & FANS
Spectators should do the following:
- Exhibit good sportsmanship at all times.
- Provide encouragement to players, referees and coaches of both teams.
- Follow requests from the referee or the team’s coach.
SPECTATORS SHOULD NOT:
- Harass players, coaches, referees or other spectators.
- Stand on the team’s side of the field.
- Stand behind the goal.
- Enter the field of play during a game.
- Use abusive language at any time.
